I brought my hen in a few days ago she had sour crop, she's better today up moving around happy and using the bathroom normally but I found this weird nasty thing in her cage, can you tell me what it is?
I have a broody silkie and my egg pipped today yay!!! My question is do I need to remove momma and baby from the other chickens and into their own coop? I read online she would introduce the baby chick to the other hens and they won't hurt the chick, idk how true that is
I've had two pullets get sick then die suddenly,
They are slow moving around, act weak but can still walk but prefer not to, won't eat or drink so I had to syringe the water for them then a few hours later died.... I'm hoping it's not contagious any idea what it could be?
One died 2 weeks ago...
I have a hen, I know she's not egg bound she laid an egg today, her color and waddles look normal only thing off is she doesn't act like she can or wants to walk, she doesn't act weak, but when I picked her up her vitamin water up chucked out of her mouth like crazy! What could be wrong?

I have my first ever broody hen i also have a rooster, she's been laying on these 2 eggs for 2 days now and I didn't realize till today, I'm gonna let her hatch her babies, but I don't feel like she's gone anywhere to eat or drink? Do I need to do anything or just let her do her thing?
Hatched one of my 6 eggs this morning, and she has not laid still since, I have 4 eggs that pipped yesterday and one still hasn't popped is that normal? And the new born chick is it okay for her to be bumping into the eggs like crazy and spinning them everywhere?
It's day 19 of incubating eggs! I have 6 in there ready for hatching but I have one super wiggly chick moving the egg all around, why is only one visible to seeing the egg move? It's killing me not being able to candle the eggs to make sure everything looks good lol

I am new to incubating, I'm on day 16 and I was curious if the air cells look like they are the right size for this stage? If not do I add more water or take some water away? I marked them with a pencil

Right now it calls for 100ml water and temp to be 37.8°c
