I was recently given this beautiful, big rooster. Previous owner said she got him as a day old chick (probably hatchery) but couldn't recall his breed. Is he a New Hampshire?
The person I got these from was told they were Penedesenca. We now think they are a cross of some kind of bantam as they are small birds. The cockerel just started crowing, pullet has not started laying yet.

What are the wire cage clips called that have a tab and cut-out? Not the regular J-Clips that are a rectangle of metal shaped like a J. And where can I purchase just those clips without the pliers? I've been searching the Internet with no luck.
What breeds are these chicks?

Found this mystery egg on the floor of the coop today. It had a dark reddish brown shell, a clear "yolk", was about the size of a large marble, and more round than egg shaped. I believe the scratch marks are from the chickens pecking it or walking on it. No idea who laid it or whether it was...
IS THIS A DOMINIQUE, BARRED ROCK, OR BLACK SEX-LINK? COCKEREL OR PULLET? Sorry the first 2 pictures are small, couldn't figure out how to make them bigger.
About 4-5 months old.
Same chick at about 2-3 weeks old.
Same chick at 1-3 days old.
My 15 brahma hens were laying about a dozen or more eggs a day. When the weather got better I started letting them out in the pasture to forage during the day. After a couple days of foraging I noticed the daily eggs declined to only about 5 or 6 so I put the hens back into the coop day & night...
I have chicks that are 1 1/2 - 2 wks old & was wondering if a wire bottom (1x1/2") would be ok for them. I have a rabbit cage with a tray that is bigger than the box they are in now.
Thank you in advance!
Any guesses on these 2 week old chick's genders? Still a little young but fun trying to guess.
Not sure if it's going to be cream cockerel or buff pullet. This one's father is Buff Brahma, mother is Light Brahma.
I'm thinking cockerel. This one I'm not sure of mother/father. I have 1 BB roo...
