I don't think it's necessarily an emergency, but something isn't right here. These babies hatched four days ago now.. I'm concerned about the one to their left/my right, his hatch mate is there for size comparison. Ten hatched, and he's the only problem child.
I thought the he was going to...
My daughter put frizzles and easter eggers at the top of her Christmas list.. I thought a frizzled easter egger eggs for her to hatch might be a good idea, if anyone has a half dozen or so hatching eggs to sell
Thanks!

She's a good size bird, and easily the quietest, most calm lady I've got. Her colors look similar (but still different!) to several buff types I've found... I can see similarities to the buff brahma and the buff sussex, but also differences, and she's a bit lighter in color. She lays a very...
I got these guys from a livestock auction at the very beginning of August. They were supposedly two weeks old then, making them about 17 weeks now. I thought the auctioneer said guineas, wanted a few... however, what he'd said was banties! Two girls, three boys.
The boys seem to have different...
I've been lurking for awhile, and I have to say this is a wonderful resource. I've learned a lot from the information people have posted here and have been much better prepared for things that come up. So far you guys and searching the BYC archives have helped me with an egg-bound hen, predator...
I lurk... I'm guilty. It's far more interesting to read what everybody else has to say than to try to come up with something interesting enough to share! But, I digress..
For the first time in yeeeears, and the first time ever in my own living room (always before at my uncle's!), I have a full...
I have several silkie chicks that hatched a few days ago. This morning I noticed that one looked half dead... picked it up, it opened one eye, muttered at me and went back to sleep. I set it back down in the brooder but two of the others pecked at it, so in my sweater pocket it went.
Four hours...
This seems to be a hard breed to get ahold of, and of course it's the one I decided I really wanted! Does anyone sell wheaten marans chicks, or can someone point me in the right direction?
I would need to have them shipped, or I can pick up within 150 miles of zip 44401.
Thanks!

While in the barn for a little clean-up time, I noticed my two red hens had shoved themselves into the everybody-wants-to-use-THIS-one nest box together. Of course, I left them alone and went about my business. A little later, one of the girls stood up... I saw her take a nice, long stretch...
This is Little Mr. Poopy Butt. We got these 6 chicks, our first, from a vendor at a local flea market at 2 weeks old (now 7 1/2 weeks), and I've had to wash his little chicky behind about every other day since. I don't know the breed, he's some sort of Bantam mix. He may even be a she, I'm not...
