I have a lone Texas A&M female that I hatched out. For the longest time I thought she was a he. Anyways, she has been laying an egg a day and taken only 2 days off. She is a lovely bird in all ways. I just wish I had a mate for her. She lays her eggs in early evening. Lately, it has been...
I was trying to cram as many eggs into my incubator. Thinking that some will be clear and I will be able to toss those. HA! Yesterday was lockdown and I candled everything getting ready and they were still stacked. All viable. Good thing I had a spare or I would have been Sol. This is...
I am only venting. I want to go and look at a incubator but the guy selling it will not be home until late. I usually would not have a problem but I would actually have to be inside their home testing the incubator. I feel a little uncomfortable so I called and asked my sister to go with me...

I have been trying my best to make these chicks happy. I bought Kruse's Organic Starter feed and it was buggy. I tried again and it was even buggier. I gave up and gave them a Chick Starter Mash and Naturewise. They LOVE both. Then I got my shipment of Cascade Starter and Grower. Since...
Hi, I am expecting day olds next week and I am a gardener too. I would like to sow some seeds so they can munch on it later. I got the idea because I saw a Tasty Chicken treat pack from Sandhill but it is too late to purchase it now. I will look into it but I think it is too late. Any ideas...
I have been lurking for long enough and I joined today. I live in the San Gabriel Valley. Grew up in Los Angeles and had chickens since I was a child. Had them again when I moved and then I have not had them for quite a few years. I am again looking to raise a few hens on my city lot. I use...
