So my little game bantie
got together with my Frizzle roo
and decided to make some babies.......
and here we are the end of August
They all have 5 feathered toes like their dad, are very cuddly like their mom.
Thought it was an interesting cross.
Hi, I was gifted this little banty who I am guessing is about 12 weeks old. She's very sweet and wants to cuddle all the time and goes fractic when I put her away at night. Any suggestions as to what breed she is? Thank you.
I have a mixture of cayga & campbell khaki eggs in my Brinsea. Brinsea recommends a slightly higher humidity than for chicken eggs 45-55 RH and then 65%+ for hatching. Reading the literature and posts on BYC, it seems that RH should actually be lower than for chicken eggs- does anyone know...
My son as a surprise arranged to get 10 fertilized Muscovy duck eggs which will be available in about 10 days. I guess the incubator sitting empty for the last 4 days was driving him crazy! Do they really take approximately 35 days to hatch? What is the expected hatch rate on them? I have a...
March Hatch-a-long for the new Brinsea Owners!!! Brinsea has advised the company will be donating a prize for our March Brinsea Hatch-a-long!!! It will be an OVASCOPE!!

So the February hatch-a-long contest is for a Brinsea brooder. How do we get a March hatch contest going????? I posted on the Brinsea Facebook site asking about a March-hatch-along and the Eggecutive said she hadn't heard anything. So does an exec from BYC need to arrange this?????? Inquiring...
Yesterday was a beautiful day- the sun was shining, the snow was gone, it was 10c when I left for work. My barred rock roo was taking a dust bath and when I called to him he shook his feathers free of the dust looking magnificent for the first time this winter. The girls were happily wandering...
Locked down 7 eggs yesterday afternoon. Everything was fine. Last evening I noticed a hairline crack right in the center of Egg # 7 that hadn't been noticeable earlier in the day. What do I do? Leave it, pull it, pull it out of there, wax it and put it back in?
3 of the 4 eggs I cracked for breakfast this morning had pale yellow yolks. They have always been bright orange before. This week I did give them a few handfuls of bird seed to keep them entertained in the coop. Also, the shells themselves have been slightly misshaped. Any ideas?
Thank you!
Hi, I was gifted this Frizzie at Christmas as they feared he might be a Roo. He is now 7 months old, has never crowed, but he did try to jump on the barred hens back one day.

Hi, my eggs seem to turn 180 turn 1 and then back 180 degrees turn 2. Is this correct or how should I set the angle for my chicken eggs? They average about 69 grams each (2.4 oz)
I tried it at angle 10 (max) and just adjusted to angle 9. Anyone?
Decided to give my Brinsea Mini Advance a try. Set 7 eggs 8pm Friday Jan 21- 1 month to the date that I received my Brinsea! Weighed, charted, incubator all warmed up, temp steady at 37.5 C. 20 minutes after I put the eggs in, the low temp warning went off. Panicked and found in the manual...
I've been collecting fertilized eggs for the last 5 days and thinking of starting a batch Friday night. It's been really cold here this week and I am not completely certain that some of the eggs didn't freeze during the day. Since I have an unlimited supply of eggs, would it be better for me...
Hi, I rehomed this hen and have no idea what breed she is. She is small, pea comb, feathered cap and feet, five toes. Her egg is a smooth pinkish beige. Perhaps she is a cross? I really like her and would like to get more of her kind in the spring. The rest of my crew are Barred Rock, Red &...
