    Nonie's Halloween costume

Petco was having a pet costume contest last Saturday. There were many applicants, but I was the only one with a chicken. We didn't win, but received a seed block and this pic. She went as Yoda.

    Egg W/ No Shell??

Tonight as I was tucking the girls in and collecting the eggs, I found one that did not have a shell??? It was the feel of jelly-fish (kind of) and broke in my hand as I tried to clean it up. I have never had this happen before. What causes this, and is this serious? Is my chicken okay?

    Chicken Diapers

Has anyone had any success with getting their chickens to wear these? I bought 1 pair for each of my girls and while they don't take them off they sure do try. They'll keep walking backwards to try to take it off and start flapping around. They don't freak out too much but I can't imagine them...

    Wing Clipping

Since I'm new to keeping chickens I've just discovered that some people actually cut their birds wings. I've heard of doing this for parrots and other smaller birds but not chickens. I keep doves and have their wings clipped to keep from flying. But what purpose does it serve to chickens? Do you...
