    Newbie getting broody hen some eggs

    Okay do I leave her with the flock or put her seperate? I have a couple of ultra bossy hens in my group. I've seen them peck at my broody girl several times already.

    I've got a hen gone broody. I'm feeling kind of bad for her she's a sweetie. I've never done this before and I can't spend a lot. I do have paypal. Standard size would be best. I would really like some EE's I'm in Melbourne Florida and my chickens are free range. Thanks.

    Help broody hen sitting on golf balls

    Well we have no rooster... So I removed the eggs and put in golf balls. What else can I do? I'm considering trying to find some viable eggs for her.

    My chickens have the pox.

    It's the dry form. Thank goodness I have RIRs and the pic from the disease section look just like mine. Everyones eating and walking around. On of the girls' comb is almost completely black. Some just have white spots forming. I've been researching. Seems like it is a waiting game from here on...

    Dirt in egg?

    i went to scramble some of my eggs for the kids and one of the eggs had some dirt in it. What on earh happened? The outside of the egg was clean.

    I read that they eat ticks. but what about chiggers. We might be moving to an area in Arkansas that is chigger infested.

    The sneeze the snot and the chicken

    My son has some congestion. Today he was holding one of the chickens. He sneezed and a ton of snot came out. The chicken ate it!!!! Is it going to be okay?? My 4 year old son's reaction was "Did that chicken eat my snot???!!??? How cool is that??!!??

    Does it do any good on a chicken?? Keep them from going over a fence or up in trees or in neighbors yards??

    Took them out to play for the first time

    I wish my camera had batteries in it. You know the chickens were my husband's idea. But sitting outside and watching them was Wonderful! Everyone had a great time!
