    How do I get a NPIP number?

    I live in Illinois and call Dept of agriculture in Springfield they gave me a number of a person who they said tests birds, so I called him and he said he only tests his own birds and cant get me a number. I need to get my birds tested but I don' t know how to get this done, can someone help?

    hen changing to drake

    I have an older call hen that is changing to a drake, I mean she is getting the male coloring, she has a curl on her tail and her voice is becoming hoarse.     If I crossed my silkie feathered serama pullets with a Silkie rooster, would the babies turn out silkied.? The pullets parents are normal feather serama, but must carry the silkied gene.
