Our Hens are producing 9 eggs a day from 11 hens. They are only using 2 of our 7 boxes. My daughter is excited she has sold 12 dozen eggs. One layed a double yoke the other day and she asked me will that become twins? Does anybody know or has anyone heard of twins hatching?
Since one of my hens has started laying at 19 weeks we are going to put them on layer- any preference between pellets and mash-
next question how long before you should wait till the medicated feed is out of their system before you can eat the eggs?
Thanks
My Daughter went out this morning to feed and water our chickens and laying by the feeder was an egg. She is 9 and they are her chickens, so you can imagine how excited she was. It was small, but it was her first egg. It was one of our Brown Legghorns they are 19 weeks.
Thanks to all the help from friends in BYC, they are doing well. here are a few PICS. you can go to

We need to buy some feed; we have 5 week olds, would it be ok to switch from medicated stater to grower now or buy the stater and switch at 8 weeks to grower. The way they eat now they will be finished with a bag of stater in 3 more weeks.
Thank You,
