    Need help convincing...

Dad is the primary one against it. He thinks that because I am starting college that I won't have time to take care of them properly. (I do own the chickens - they are my primary responsibility). They are about 3 1/2 years old now. I am doing college from home and am mature for my age so I...

    Question about feathers.

Is there a way that I can just pluck one or two tail feathers off without hurting my girls too much? I am hoping to dye the feathers to sell as hair extensions. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks! We have woods surrounding our house as well as two cats ( they don't bother the chickens) and one dog. He likes to chase them but doesn't want to hurt them. He is inside during the day though. we are WAY out in the country so I'll give it a try! I have always wanted to free range...

    Help!

One of my hens just started laying yesterday. Earlier I noticed an egg hanging out from her rear. Will she push it the rest of the way out on her own or do I need to help?

    Rabbit and chickens?

My chickens live contentedly together in the coop and run. My rabbit is in a cage by herself. Will it be safe to put her in the chicken run with the chickens during the day? If so, what is the best way to introduce? I also have a rooster...will that be a problem?

    Is my hen broody?

My hen just started laying this past week. When I let them out of the coop, she stayed in one of the nesting boxes. I was able to get her off. Just a few minutes ago, I went out to check on her and she was back in the nesting box. She crackled at me when I tried to shoo her off. Has she...
