My SS is finally laying but I noticed this morning that she has a bare butt/vent area. It's not that red, but I'm concerned. None of my other hens (four) have a bare butt. They're all about 7 months old. Any suggestions/thoughts? Thanks!

mine LOVE the hop clover weed, and squash (cut up real small) and the seeds of any squashes, and cottage cheese! They're not big on lettuce. Oh yeah, corn on the cob too!

these are all so amazing!!! Here's ours - DH based it on the Playhouse Coop. We still have to do the roof (this weekend, we hope, but the chickens are safe. He's doing an overhang over the windows. We used all recycled/free materials so far!!! (except for the hardware cloth)

okay, here's the EE (I had to use a flash because we went to the county fair and got back late!). You can see the Buckeye in the foreground. And here's the Buckeye. They're both 10 weeks old today. Do these photos help?

I do know that My Pet Chicken has organic feed - but other than that, I'm clueless!
