I have to find a new home for my three girls. I have a Rhode Island Red, a Black Sex Link, and a White Cochin. All are 2.5 years old and good layers.
These are very much pet chickens, and I'd love for them to go to a pet home. They are all healthy, tame, and sweet, and they will eat out of your...
I don't think so. It's weird. She eats fine, runs fine, but acts really drunk when she's wandering around the yard. She and my RIR are the best of friends but in the last couple days they haven't been hanging out together. She's been kindof a loner.
She's molting, too. She almost all of her...
Need some relatively urgent help from some chicken experts here.
My black sex link is sick. She's acting drunk, wobbling around, crossing one foot over the other when she walks. She's lost a substantial amount of weight over the last two days, but this is the first day I've seen the drunk...
Looks like none of the feed stores have any babies and won't until september. The guy at one of the feed stores said she'd kill the babies because they aren't hers. True or not? I figured she'd adopt them.

Really? Even if I bought a couple babies at the feed store?
What about my other two hens? I have a black sex link and a RIR that can be a bit bossy and territorial.
One of my three girls has been broody for almost three months now. She's a white cochin. I've been taking her out every morning so she can stretch out a bit and get water and food, but she shows no signs of stopping. I even shut off her access to her nest yesterday and she just found another...
I honestly can't remember if I was using my Nikon D50 or D200. Either way I was using the kit lens (18-55mm) and was feeling lazy so I left it on Program mode the whole time.
Dolores is a black sex link and Aleshanee is a white cochin. Gogo was sold to me as a red wyandotte but is clearly not one. She's either a Rhode Island Red or a New Hampshire red, not really sure.
Adam, they're so cute!! Monte is such a good boy!
I forgot to ask you, how's your buff polish looking? Mine started getting her big girl feathers this week. She's absolutely gorgeous.
It was nice fun-running with you and the dogs today at the park. They're all zonked out on the couch now...

That little theif! Would she really care all that much about stealing them at 23 weeks old? And shouldn't my RIR be laying bigger eggs? They're only a little over an inch long.
Looks like I was wrong about who has been laying the eggs. I thought it was my RIR, GoGo because they are light brown eggs coming nearly every day. Very small, but brown. She's the oldest, after all. Today I caught my little Japanese bantam Ginger on the nest, and discovered that it has been her...
Just today I was getting bummed out about my girls not laying yet, but when I went out to the coop, I found a teeny tiny brown egg! YAY! My RIR girl GoGo must have laid it.
Hi! Been a while since I posted. My flock is almost all grown up now! Anyway, just wanted to share some pictures with you guys.
This is my favorite girl, Ofelia, Silver Grey Dorking.
This is my very tolerant dog, Julio with Miu, a bantam partridge cochin.
Vol. 2 of above picture...
