OK, I had some more eggs for lock down. I have a auto turner in one incubator. Then on day 18 I have another incubator without a turner for lockdown. I was laying the eggs on there side when I put them in lock down. This time I had a egg carton and stood the eggs staight up for lockdown. ALL...
Ok, had 4 more eggs in lock down and no hatch again. I feel like giving up!
Here is my setup. I have a LG with a fan and auto turner. Temp @ 99.5 and humidity stays from 42 to 45 %. At day 18 I move them to another LG with a fan. Temp @ 99.5 and humidity this time 71 to 73%. No hatch. All chicks...
I do candel the eggs, Some of my eggs are dark colors. That makes it hard to tell any details. When candeling them what am I looking for that would show too much moisture? I can usually tell devoloping eggs, but thats about all the skill I have!!!!
Well I added a second dish with a sponge in it. Now half the incubator is filled up with dishes with water in them. Finally the humidity is up to 73%. I hope this is the problem. We will know tuesday! I hope I can get this figured out.
The eggs did not seem to be extra moist or dry. One had cracked the shell, but made no more progress. the eggs were wobbling for about 24 hours. Then everything stopped. I have 4 more eggs to lock down this evening, so I hope I can get something figured out!
This is my second set in my LG. This time the chicks developed but still not hatch. For the first 18 days the humidity stayed around 45% and temps stayed between 99 & 100. The last three days the temps stayed right, but I could only get the humidity into the 60's. Could this be the problem? I...
I am still looking for a show quality self blue d'uccle rooster. Somebody has to have one or know someone who does. I got 5 hens just waiting for him! Also would like to have a pair of porcelain's. Any help would be great!!!

They are classified as booted. There are standard for them also. If you go to the D'uccle club sight you can find all the standards for the booted there. When they are shown, they will be in two different classes.
I got a quad of mille fleur's this weekend. How much is too much white? They dont have any solid white feathers, but alot of white tipped. If you have pictures that would help alot. I really like there coloring, just not sure its correct. Also if its not, what could be done to darken the chicks up?
I have about 40 of them and the hens hardly make a peep. Now the roosters get into crowing matches, starting about 4 every morning. Then they will crow all different times of the day.
Not sure about humidity. I kept water in the bator. I am sure it was something I did. If it was half developed, then the egg was good. had to be something that happended during the sit.
My hatch date came and went. I had a egg with half developed chick. What would have caused this? Temps have been good. Just looking for advice for next time.
I just hit the lottery today. These are awful pics, but could not wait to share. This was after dark and could not get the birds to cooperate. Picked up three trios today. black, white and molted.
Still looking for a show quality self blue rooster. Also would like to have a few high quality mille fleur hens. I have a few blue mille fleur cockerels I would consider selling if any one is interested.
