Each store is different due to different weather, but it usually starts sometime in March. I went to their website, and it says contact your local TSC for times and dates of the chicks arrival.
2x, sounds like she may have tried to eat a piece of the bedding. What type of bedding do you use for the chicks? And how long has the chick been doing this?
I had TWO Rhode Island Reds, and one Amerucana. (RIR lay brown eggs, Amer. lays green)
They would lay FOUR brown eggs, and one green egg, each and every day. lol, how is that possible? How can one hen lay two eggs in one day?
Was it something I was feeding them? or their genetics???
I tried to avoid Newspaper because it's super slick for the baby chicks feet. You should try paper towel or wood shavings. Pine Wood shavings smell delicious and masks the smell very well and it is easier to clean out.
I'm ordering 6 chicks soon () and I want to start deciding on their outside coop.
Here are the list of coops i'm considering from mypetchicken -

Which do you think is best?? Like I said, I am ordering 6 chickens (all hens). I...
Same thing happened to me, and I couldn't get it to work.I tried again but made a shorter title and it worked just fine. I'm not sure if thats what the bug was, but it's worth a try
Haha, they all look so cute! :) I especially love the black one in the last pic, his expression is so funny! ;D
I know! They grow soooo fast. After having chickens grow up so fast, when I'm getting my chicks next month, i'll be taking as MANY pics as possible.
Yes, 63f is way too cold for baby chicks (even too cold for me, lol ) The temp. should be around 80f for that age of chicks. How is their poop? If the poop is watery then that means they're cold. Try to get the heat lamp a little closer to them, or you could get a stronger bulb.
12 yrs old is extremely old in chicken years, you've given him a great, healthy life. But it's time to let him go. Try to keep him warm, and make sure he's eating. I'm sorry :( I know how hard it is to let of a beloved rooster
I hope you've been able to find your rooster, if you haven't dont worry, I'm sure he'll pop up very soon. Once, one of my extremely docile hens went missing right when I was putting all the chickens in their coop for night time. It scared me half to death since she was so small. But sure enough...
Haha, they're marbles. You put large marbles into their waterer so that they cant drown. Plus, the chicks love to peck at wildly colored ones :)
anyways, those chicks are so adorable! they look so beautiful, and healthy!
Kudos to you! :)
