After a year of having them, we decided to build them a better coop. Guess that was all the butt holes next door needed to turn us in and we had to give up our chickens.
It was quite upsetting. My daughter who LOVES chickens cried.
So, I'll be leaving the forum soon.
My sister had to put her beloved GSD down yesterday ... she was 16 years old. I'm making her a rainbow bridge throw to honor her. Here is the pix of what I have so far. The background will be buff colored and trimmed in coffee and black.
Goto Youtube and look up the Crochet Crowd. Mikey has a full series of videos to teach you how to crochet from the most basic way to sit up and though advanced stitches. It's like a 23 part series. He's amazing.
My Barred Rocks. 2 wks old. This one is the one I think is a Roo. Lighter, slightly bigger and not much or any black wash on his legs and legs are fatter. Seems to carry himself higher. He will have to find a new home. No Roos allowed, well no chickens but roos are a big nono

This is all crazy. My TSC ppl all know their stuff. I got 6 chicks off them last year and then 6 more this year.. BR, ST run. Bllahh. I'm pretty sure I got at least 1 roo, anywhoo... I don't have 'kids' working at TS, they're all adults and seem to really know what they're talking about. the...
Pix of my barred rocks. Straight run. I have a few more, not uploaded yet. I got them at TSC w/o telling my husband. He wasn't too happy w/ me :( I'm prob not going to keep them all, and if there are any boys... they for SURE Have to go.
I have a barred rock peep that was going to town last night. I got a straight run, so I was wondering if maybe it was a boy announcing that the girls were sleeping. Or maybe it's just a peep peeping it's little head off.
sorry about that... Leghorns from what I understand are the smartest birds... they really sense weakness. Ginger was a nice bird and would not defend herself, even though she was 10 times their size... sorry for the loss of your baby.
Just got this update after months. I crochet every day.. tons of stuff... I'll have to post pix. as for hat prices, I usually sell mine for 15-18 dollars...
Eahhhh... I don't know.. they're flighty and not big on lovings... they just kinda walk around, squat and poop out eggs.. which is what I have them for.
Thanks. We lost Ginger a few weeks ago to something. She was in a dog crate, in our garden, where she has been on and off all summer due to getting pecked... one day... her head was gone... GONE... No idea what got to her... she was finally healing and was soon to be going back to the flock...
