yes they are very simple to use and my kids have used them with a little help from me and really liked it. the hardest part is get the loops over the pegs once you have wraped the yarn around the peges but with kids can do it too. Oh and a little tip if you put the loop over the last peg you rapped first it won't unwind because if you go all the way around the cyrcle and let go the yarn will all come off the pegs.I was thinking about getting one of those. My niece REALLY wants to "make stuff" everytime she comes over. She's only 4yrs old but they looked simple enough that i might be able to help her do it easily. she would be over the moon if she made a hat! lol

Yay!!! Good job. I am getting comfy and gettin in bed to crochet some hats(my husband works nights) so I really enjoy my relax time before I go to bed..We stopped by the food bank tonight to drop the hats off and I ended up putting hats on close to 15 kids! (some parents had kids at home). The rest are all going into the Christmas packages they give out.
A note on the hats... for me anyway, the kids size ends up fitting like 6mo - 3yrs(smallish head). Most of the kids that got hats tonight were 4-11 and the adult size fit them perfectly.
Was so cute, one little boy got a hat and then his little brother(18mo?) and the older boy HAD to have the smaller hat because it had a pompom, lol. A different little boy also went nuts over the fun-fur hat.![]()
ETA: I made my adult sizes with 10 rows of DC, 11th row in HDC, then a SC row to finish.
