Thank you very much & thank you for the hatching tips. I really can't wait to hatch my own now, I know they won't replace Clyde and I'll always be worried about it happening again but I also want to enjoy watching the new turkeys .
Thank you so much for asking, they came, looked around, took a statement and the ice pick (which had no finger prints due to mud and rain). They are investigating it as a burglary. There isn't really much else they can do or any leads as to who it was but at least they are taking it seriously...
Yes I had a look for some dutch bantams but the seller has quite a bit of negative feedback for infertile eggs. A kind lady not too far from me is going to give me some bourbon red eggs in Spring so I'm sure that will be fun . I have also advertised for a turkey hen to keep Bonnie company.
Well after my bourbon red Clyde was killed and stolen by some low life thieving scum the day before New Years Eve, I had decided that I couldn't risk replacing him in case it happens again. In fact I was ready to throw in the towel completely as it upset me so much. However, my first incubator...
Thank you all once again, the police are coming to the allotment at 9.30 tomorrow although there probably won't be much they can do but at least it will be recorded. I am going to take as many security measures as possible and then decide whether I feel it is safe enough to bring Bonnie back...
Thank you all for your concern, I have contacted the police they have taken all the details, the rural crimes officer comes on duty at 2pm and is going to call me then. My friend came to the allotment with me this morning in case they had returned. thankfully they hadn't but then I have no...
Thank you all for your kind comments. I miss him so much already. I am going to the police in the morning although there probably isn't much they can do. I don't have electricity on the allotment to set up a camera well only by a generator but they'd probably take that too thieving b@@@@@ds. I...
Got to my allotment this morning to find someone had dragged my turkey stag through the window of his shed & killed and taken him. They had been in all my other pens/runs but deliberately targeted my two turkeys which I loved so much. I got to my gate and could hear Bonnie clucking loudly...
I have 3 black leghorns & 2 exchequer, they are about 6 months old and still not laid an egg between them yet. They are the first to escape out of the run when I open it to feed them, the first to run away when I try to touch them, however they are slowly coming round and I can now catch them...
