I put some nail polish on the crack, I really hope this works. I have a bad feeling about this hatch though. She is a new mom and its cold here. Does anyone know what the chance of these two eggs to hatch will be.? I know they are both fertile..
It is day 5 of incubation and my hen is sitting on 2 eggs, while I was candling today I noticed one had a hairlike ( ? ) crack. I was wondering if you could put nail polish on it and if it would still hatch.? Also, would the egg be ok if I wait till tomorrow to do it because I dont wanna disturb...
I have a hen sitting on eggs right now. I am sure two out of the three eggs are fertile. I was wondering if it is to cold for the eggs when the hen jumps off the nest to do her business. It's is 52 degrees outside.. Will the eggs be alright.?? It is day 4 of incubation..
This is awesome.! Can't wait to see the babies. My chickens are to scared and would probably never lay or hatch in egg in the house~ They only do that in the coop...
The hens and roos that I have now are Meatball, Velvet, Nala, Chicken Nugget, Barbecue, Teriyaki, and Pipsqueak. My Pekin ducks are named Donna, Daisy, and Lil Bill. I had a Buff Orpington named Pasta, another rooster named Beau, and a hen named Big Mama. They are all gone unfortunately though <|3
Just make sure you lock everybody up everyday and watch out. I was out of town and the neighbors were watching our chickens and I had a Buff Orpington sitting on eggs and the fox came at around 6 ( when the time was changed, so it was daylight ) and got her.
This happened to my pullet, except it was from the other hens. She is actually scabbing nicely and back to her old self. She just looks beat up. You are doing everything you can. Keep him seperated.. and fresh food and water. Make sure the cage is cleaned regularly too. This is what I did / am...
I am glad he got caught.! I do not like foxes. I was out of town once, and a fox attacked, killed, and took my Buff Orpington, Pasta, that was sitting on eggs. Luckily, 2 eggs.. out of the 6 that were originally there.. hatched. A boy and a girl. I still have them and they are the only thing I...
Thank you, that makes me feel a little bit better; I think I am just worried because I found my chickens in front of my house.. a mom and her babies. I dont think they have ever had any shots or vaccinations or anything like that. The vet should be here any minute.
I have a couple of questions and it has been really worrying me lately. I have a vet coming out Friday morning who is going to check all my chickens and ducks ( for free. ) to see if they have any issues, and mainly Pullorum-Typhoid disease since I am showing in the fair this year. I was just...
I give my chickens and ducks Dumor; they like it. I haven't had any problems with it either. I was giving them Purina Layena and their egg production stopped. I switched them back and they started laying again.
My pullet got pecked on her head by the other chickens and she got hurt pretty badly. She is looking way better than before and just has to heal now. She is scabbing up nicely and everything, but just wondering if I can use this on her head. ( This happened on Christmas Eve by the way ) Thanks!
I think it is possible. My hen laid a egg with no shell once. It had the egg white though and a " plastic-like " cover around it. Sometimes things just happen~
I had a Buff Orpington named Pasta that was sitting on eggs. I was out of town and the neighbors were watching everybody and she had gotten attacked and kiiled by a fox. I only found feathers everywhere. I was sad, but I "healed " quickly because I had another broody hen at the time and she...
