Does my broody hen box look ok? Lots of Pics!

Just a note. I have been pulling her off the clutch each morning to eat and then she runs across the yard and then returns shortly after. I plan to keep the door to the box open during the day and hopefully the other hens wont bother her in there.

Hi all, On Sunday I picked 5 hens from a backyard chicken keeper. The 4 speckled sussexes looked fine but the Welsummer he said had a cold and should be kept separate. She is showing only discharge from the nose. She does not eat the fermented feed I give but nibbles on the dry pellet (which...

Blue Langshan Rooster in Northern Virginia or DC area

Nothing wrong with this big beautiful Langshan rooster (Dusty) other than the fact that we already have one who eats less and our 5 hens can only handle one since they are adults now (20 weeks). Hi all, Chicks are coming today and all is set and ready to go. I am so excited!!! I was wondering how long I should leave the fermented feed in the chick trough feeder before dumping it and adding fresh. I added 1 cup and a half so its not filled all the way up. Also, should I dump and...
