The magpie is adorable i really hope my duck takes to her. In the pen since my duck was sitting her grass grew really fast so the baby looks like shes walking through a jungle lol.
Well my girlfriend and i both raised my duck and she only attacks my girlfriend when broody or the one time she hatched babies. So i find it funny she doesn't trust her while broody. My full grown duck is a muscovy. She's very protective and doesn't like any living thing other then me, my drake...
Thanks for your response, no she is not on eggs anymore when i went to see her earlier i brought some worms and she ran at me with joy and while she chowed down i removed the eggs and replaced the bedding. Then she followed the new baby and they both went in their house and she sat again and the...
Long story short my drake passed away leaving my Duck all alone. I tried getting her a new friend but she rejected that idea. Now i got her a baby and she likes it and isn't aggressive towards it. Only thing is i have 2 problems. One she is still broody from sitting on eggs so all she wants...
Thanks for your input I knew some weren't fertile, the ones that have a dark area literally look like that in person hard to see anything is that normal? Will a dark space be better? Also forgot to mention they're Muscovy eggs
I have 3 ducks total, 2 male 1 female, 2 of them are seperated from my other male for obvious reasons, but my 1 boy needs a friend since i cant be home all the time. Would a goose be ok as a friend? If so, could the goose be male and i wouldnt have any problems? Side notes, my male thats alone...
I forgot to mention i have taken a sample to a vet and they said they found nothing. I thought it was worms too. When shes laying she has food 24/7 in front of her but she just got done sitting so wont be laying for a lil bit. She does spend almost all her time in or around her pond though.
I have a female Muscovy and for a few months every time she poops it's all liquid like diarrhea. Shes fed staple food at night 16%, and gets mealworms, peas, carrots, tomatos, grapes, etc every now and then. My girlfriend thinks this happens because she lays eggs, but she does this weeks after...
Yea I know it's puzzling. Maybe my boy doesn't know what hes doing. As a baby he was unable to walk well and had undeveloped lungs and my vet said he wouldn't live to be 4 months old, but i proved my vet wrong because hes over a year now. His lungs developed and he walks just like the other...
Yes i cracked 11 eggs after letting the female sit on them for 2 weeks. None of them were fertile. They eat their staple food and get worms tomatoes peas grapes and carrots on a daily basis.
I have to scovies male and female both a little over a year old and they mate a lot. My female has had 2 clutches of eggs now and both times there were no fertile ones. Is there anything I can do to help the eggs get fertile? Like I said they mate a lot and they're with each other 24/7
thanks, yea my greatest fear is my pekin trying to have his way because he is very rough. Could you reccomend a breed for me to get for him? The breeds i'd really like are either another scovy, silver appleyard, ancona, or a runner.
I currently have 2 scovies male and female and 1 pekin male, all 1 year old now. The scovies have their own pen so the males never fight or get the chance to anyway. And the pekin is not a loner he goes everywhere with me and sleeps in my room in the house at night. I'm thinking about getting...
