I have been losing eggs and finally found the culprit. A black racer snake. So, my question is how to deter snakes in my chicken coop nests? That's where I found it. In one of my girls nests. Any ideas??
I have about 3 hens that look like their combs have black wart like spots & it looks like their combs are getting smaller. I have cleaned their coop & nests about a week ago. I haven't seen anything like it before. Any advise? Help please.

I bought 4 americanas 2 months ago & have recently noticed 1 has maybe deformed beak. Top goes left and bottom goes right. She is constantly eating crumbles so feel she isn't getting enough nutrients. Is there anything to do about it?
When I bought some chicks about 2 months ago Americanas then about a week ago I saw I had 1 with a broken beak. The top part of the beak goes lefty and the bottom goes right. She eats OK but I know poo w she isn't getting enough nutrients because she's always eating and not always roaming with...
She is getting off the nest & eating & drinking. I close the gate to the fence but haven't closed the door to the house. Will start doing that. If it's a bad broody & she's pecking at the eggs what do I do to stop her & how do I find out if that might be it?
I have a hen setting on her nest of eggs in order to hatch. In the beginning there were 11eggs. Today there are 7. At 2 other times when I went into the coop there were 2 half eaten eggs with part of a baby chick. I do not know what's eating them. Any suggestions??:(

I have a hen, barred rock when I went to the coop today she was sitting out by herself. I went over to her and the top of her head all around her comb had no feathers. She's acting like she doesn't feel good. This is new to me. Any ideas?
She is 5 months old.
Eating & drinking some.
Walking with her tail down.
Her breath smells fine. Not a soured crop. I have had one with that before so I know what that is thankfully.
They are all range free, coop is cleaned regularly.
Poop is a bit runny.
I checked her vent & around her feathers...
I took this photo today. She is very sick & I do not know what it is. She was fine yesterday now this. Any ideas? I have checked for lice & mites & have not found anything.
Thank you

I have a 5 month old Buff Orpington & he has been continously scratching on the left side of his face. I am unable to see anything on him that could be causing this. This has been going on for about a week. Any help would be great!
Thanks!

Hello there!
I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of or had Buff Orpington Silkies? I went to my local farm store today asking if they were going to get any Buff Orpington's In? They said they weren't sure but, they did have Buff Orpington silkies. So, I thought I would ask if any of you...
