Does anyone know if I can use Rice Bran as a substrate for my mealworm production? My worms arrive tomorrow and my local feed store only has Rice Bran. I don't want to hoof it all the way into the city for wheat bran from the Whole Food Store.

Can my daughter start feeding our chicks "food treats" like the ones listed on this site for mature chickens? Not sure how old the chicks are because we got them a TSS, they are probably around 3 to 4 weeks old.
We are nearly finished with the coop and are trying to figure out how the chicks will get up in the boxes. They are about 12 inches off the floor. Do they need a walkway up or will they just fly/hop up in the box. Thanks for any help.
Hello Everyone! Finally have our chickens, after years of talking about it We planned on two or three ended up with eight. We have the coop all built (will post pics of that project when I figure out how) now we are waiting for our Lovely Ladies to grow enough to enjoy the great outdoors safely.
