    that what I did. it was fully formed but had not consumed the yolk, and little duckling that did hatch died... poor little thing was snuggled against the wall of the coop outside the nest and yet she still insists on siting on the nest. At the end a complete fail hatch.

    This one looks like it has internally pipped. This one i am concerned about I didnt see any movement few that short time I took to candle I am not sure if that is the right shape. Could i put i little whole in the top to check?

    i will watch for little one eating and drinking within 72 hours. So should I candle to see whats happening? Whats your advice once it hits that 48 hour mark?

    Muscovy duck question hatching egg under duck

    Hi first time allow a duck to hatch some eggs, her eggs are at day 35 but ducks still havent broken into the airsac but are really pushing against it as you can see a shadow in the airsac when candling. How long would others leave them before intervening? They are still alive at the moment.

    My black and white scovie duck gibbs is sitting on eggs...they are about 28 days in but they do have a little poop on them as she will not get off those eggs as far as i have seen. Should I clean them if so with what? Or will duckies be fine? This pic was taken a few days ago.

    I am concerned about one of the eggs that one ailkie us sitting on. Even though she is isolated from the others one eggs shell has a what looks like a dents and is cracked... i dont think it has broken into where the baby is but still worried about infections getting into the little thing...

    That is what i was thinking. angry at myself for removing the duck egg now, now its probably to late to try any other eggs
