I have 6 chickens, 3 brown, two white leghorns and an astrolorp. The astro is the only one laying at the moment. occasionally i get a brown egg, but the lleghorns, who are the youngest have gone off the lay as have the browwn hens. One of the leghorns has been eating her eggs so have separated...
I couldnt feel anything but i really dont know what im looking for. Got her out of her bed this morning and she ate like a pig. Gave her water with some calcium in it. Apart that she cant walk she seems quite content to sit all day and be waited on!!!
She is a white leghorn approx 3yrs dont know weight but is skinny but she is eating lots and still drinking. She cannot walk and sits up sometimes like a peguin. Thats why i thought she was eggbound. There are no wounds or bleeding anywhere but she is swollen in the belly area and looks as if...
I am now not sure what is wrong with my girl. She now cannot walk. have given antibiotics, sulpher and next is worming in a couple of days. Asked so called experts and now more confused than ever. She is still eating but have to syringe water in her. Tried all the remedies for eggbound and no...
as been like it for a few days now. She is about 2yrs i think. Got her from a guy who didnt want her and was not really looking after her. I have had her for about 6 months and she has been fine. She is not laying and i have been feeling her to see if she is eggbound but cant feel anything hard...
Have a white leghorn who is very listless and slow. She is not eating a great deal but is drinking. Sitting down a lot. Cannot source antibiotics from fodder store anymore so was wondering if there is an alternative antibiotic to give to her in case she has disease of some sort. Have dusted her...

i live in australia and it is the middle of winter and one of my red chooks is malting really badly.
she is almost bald and wondering why in winter is this happenning.
i have checked her for mites and she has none.
A sad day today. Our chicken 'Youngy' passed away peacefully in her sleep in her bed of straw. She contracted sour crop for the second time and did not respond to antibiotics this time. We suspect that she had some form of cancer from what we researched. She was a lovely girl and even came to...
so the black chicken,Whoopi needs solitary confinement. The leghorn seems healthy in every other respect. She is still laying and eating fine, so i think that Whoopi is just being a bully. She used to sleep on her own as the others picked on her so i think she is a bit cocky at the moment. Time...
not as such but the big black chicken was jumping on her and pecking her. So we took her out and separted her from the rest. Maybe she is just bruised. Hope so. What do i do if it is bruising. Just keep her separated until she is better?
My leghorn chicken is limping and the bad leg has green spots on it. The other leg has no spots. She pulls her leg up when standing. What would cause the green spots. Could it be gangrene because circulation is cut off.
Dont know what to do.
still the same. Just sitting looking sorry for herself. Crop still full of water. Have just given her olive oil and left her for 30 mins then tried to purge her. Only fluid and not a lot. Getting worried.
my red chickens crop is full of water gave her olive oil and all sorts came out. Not pooping. Could it be sour crop or maybe blocked gizzard. Very quiet just starting to eat a little bit Help
My red chicken has a crop full of water. When pushed she vomits up the contents which contain mainly fluid. Very listless not pooping all but yellow water. Is it sour crop or blocked gizzard.
have red chicken that is not feeling well. Very listless not eating and when i picked her up she vomited water all over me. Havnt seen it my other girls. Should i separate her from the rest or just leave her in with them.
one of my rir is losing feathers at a rapid rate. I found mites on them so i have dusted and they seem to have gone. The leghorns didnt have any ,neither did my astrolorp. The reds all had them. Is this the cause of the feather loss? I live in australia and it is winter here so i dont think it...
