OK I had the same problem so what I did is made "fake eggs." I took golf balls or my hard wooden eggs about 6 in each nest which I only had 3 spots where they lay.Placed in there nests that way they couldn't break the eggs. Got my 24+ eggs today and only lost 3 out of all of them they were really smashed eggs oozing out of the corner of the carton and I got really nervous but the rest looked great! I will post the results for you when they hatch!! Kathy

These are all real eggs no fake ones I think it's 2 different hens laying in the same box. I just wish one of them would turn broody and start laying on them.

I have a nest of eggs started and nobody is laying yet. Should I leave them and wait for a hen to start laying on it? I just don't want them to get old or should I pull them? Any ideas??

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how many years chickens lay eggs for before they stop and are worn out. I am new to this and wonder if this summer I should hatch some eggs instead of selling them so I can have future egg layers. Thanks, Kathy!
