You know I don't go out of my kind, (well I don't think I do) to rescue those animals.
Couple weeks back at the pet store they had a fry black molly with another young silver molly, I asked the guy that works there if I could buy them, they have that tank with plants and baby fish but usually...
I do not have any more livestock, but the usual barn cat that was dumped here a few years ago, wild as could be. I worked on taming her, a treat here and there works wonderful, lol. Then she stayed, and stayed longer and had 3 babies that we gave away, we had her fixed and 2 years later she is...
How in the world do you remember all your chicken names? I would have a problem with that many, you have a real good memory
I might get a couple ducks next year, I wanted to have some this year but I had surgery and I could not have looked after them, my hubby would have but he doesn't baby them...
I just want to let you know, in some pictures he had curly feathers but he would get them and then loose them all, and when I got him he had no feathers. As for my little hens, I have Maggie who is a Houdan, Ollie is an Easter egger, Lime is a Silkie and Goldie is a barred rock cross with...
I didn't know at the time that a featherless bird could happen. the kind people here told me it was because two frizzle bird got bred which is a no-no. He spent most of the winter in the house with us, yes crowing at 2-3-4am, what to do I loved him and wanted to give him a good life, so we put...
I think the dun dot brown are rarer, only seen one in my life and it is the one I have. Maybe other people here have them also
I think because they look so different it makes them cute
The thing with me is if an animal is different because of looks or something wrong with it (like the little...
Well, 4 different kinds that's enough I think. I really like the gouldian and the society because they are quieter, the canary sings nicely, the conure expects me to give her a piece of walnut every morning and the cockatiel says a few words, they all have something that makes me like them. Just...
He is a bit bigger, not a whole lot. I also have a green cheeked conure, 2 canaries, 1 gouldian finch and 4 society finches. I guess along with 4 hens, a pair of turkey and 7 guineas you could say I love birds, lol
I have not had luck with guineas and chicken. My little silkie hatch guineas, she raises them, I leave them with her until they are about 3 months old and for the second time this year the keets started to pick at the chicken.
On the other hand my pair of turkey is friendly with everybody
So the...
We put 18 of our guinea hen eggs in the incubator along with 8 more that we bought.
The 8 we bought were not fertile, not a single one.
Out of our 18 eggs, 4 were born yesterday and 4 more through the night.
It is all so exciting, I even filmed the birth of the one.
Now I am anxiously awaiting...
Thank you very much everyone for your help
I bought some turkey food yesterday, I started to give him some, plus sunflower seeds.
I am on my way to cook him some hard boiled eggs, I will give him some of that, then will go on to tuna and then cat food.
Thank you very much again and Mango thanks you.
I got Mango for Mother's Day.
Where I got him "rescued him" they told me that he was a Frizzle who was being plucked by the other chickens.
I see on his wings feathers that he is stick like feathers.
Since I got him he has some feathers coming in.
Can I feed him something to help for growing...
Thank you for the kind welcome everyone.
Drumstick diva, his lady is very likely to be a silkie if I can find him a bantam one, or anything bantam to keep the boy happy.
But before his lady comes he has to pretty himself up with some feathers.
From a newbie who will be giving a try at hatching Guinea Fowl eggs soon I am beside myself.
Wow, just what I wanted to know about the candling and more
Very impressive pictures
thank you for posting
Thank you for the welcome.
To Sumi, I will be finding him a lady I just want him to settle down into his new life.
The way our coop is set up, he can see the 4 other hens and the 4 guineas, it is just that he cannot have contact with them.
But I will definitely find him a lady.
