Yes it turned out to be nothing, it went away in time. I'm guessing it is what they call cecal poop. I think that's how you spell it. It turned out alright. Everyone is healthy!
Lately my chickens have been making sneezing noises, it's like a huff almost. I'm concerned but I don't think they would have any respiratory problems, their coops is very open in a huge building. Please let me know if this is something i should be concerned about.
They haven't made her bleed, I guess I'll just have to hand feed her until it slows down. The only one that doesn't peck at her is the turkey! She hides under her. It's sad.
I recently introduced 3 new chickens into my flock. 2 of which are silkies and one aracauna, i have many silkies and many aracauanas. For some reason, the one new aracauana is brutally picked on! They don't even let the poor baby eat anything. I have to hand feed and water her. The silkies are...
I recently introduced new chickens into my flock, and i know i do not have black head in my soil, but i still worry. One of my turkey's poops was very large and very dark, and spread out.
just wondering if this is a sign of blackhead, I mean she eats fine still and everything, isn't skinny or...
My big black cochin rooster Snape takes the cake. He's adorable and always lets his hens have everything first, treats, food, etc. When I come in the coop with treats he waits until they've all had what they wanted. They follow him around like crazy. He even is sweet to my full grown female...
Yeah i know, I'm too overprotective. I'm a new chicken owner with only these first three months experience so I want to do everything perfect for them. I was thinking that since they are very small yet, I'll wait until next summer when they're bigger, since it's already starting to get cooler...
There's a couple of chickens I am very attached to and would be devastated if I lost. That's why this is so hard for me. I'm also worried that with them being so small that they are easy targets. They are only 3 months old and a majority are bantams. One of my roosters is a full grown Cochin...
We have 4 roosters, which is alot I know... But I think that now ill leave the run door open for them to escape, but they can free range around the barn. I'm hoping they'll stay close to the coop anyways, since we have a family of hungry hawks in our woods that tried taking the cat! Ill just...
I only have one turkey with 16 chickens. Although she does have a chicken buddy, I've heard it is not good to just have one because they will get lonely. What do you think?
i feed my three month old turkey chicken feed, she seems fine, but now that i know she needs higher protein i'll consider a different feed or give her boiled eggs regularly.
My turkey is 3 months and she is one out of 16 chickens. I've fed them all chicken feed for this time period and she gets treats often and seems fat and healthy but i am worried about her in terms of is she getting the nutrients she needs. Is there a special feed she should get? (she is not for...
My chickens have a 10x6 indoor coop and a 10x5 outdoor coop which is covered and has a trench to keep predators out. As of now, they are completely safe. Unfortunately even though it sounds big it is really not. I have 16 chickens and a very large turkey. I feel bad for keeping them confined, i...
Well then Sunny is probably just dumb lol. She's only done it a couple times and it's not a very strong sound. It's a result of us gobbling at her and she'll "talk" back.
This is mustard, the first pic is when she was 1 and half months. She is now all black and much bigger (second pic). I have no idea what breed she is because i got her from school when we hatched eggs in my agriculture class. I was planning on getting other chickens so i thought why not? Just...
I think its all the kale they eat. They are incredibly healthy and don't free range. Kale is such a dark color and they get so many other treats too (maybe I should cut back)
Well when she was a baby my cochin rooster followed her around IT WAS SO CUTE. But she's really dumb so she doesn't defend herself. Maybe she's not dumb but she does make hilarious noises and does hilarious things. She does plow over them though when she wants treats. She's such a sweetheart.
I don't know...sometimes mine gobbles and i'm pretty sure its a female. She also is around no other turkeys though, only chickens, so maybe my turks a little gender identity confused. She trills alot too, i've only heard her gobble when I whistle at her though.
