    Broody Magpie

I recently adopted some magpie ducks to add to our flock- one has gone broody and I'm inclined to let her hatch her own eggs but don't have experience with this. Is there anything I need to know? Will the other ducks bother her or the ducklings? Tia

Looking for female ducks to adopt

We have a small farm in rural Parker Colorado (animals are just pets) and we'd like to add some more ducks- we currently have an adult female and male pekin. Doesn't matter what breed or age but prefer females to prevent males from fighting. Please let me know if you have any available. Thanks!

    Pet Rabbits in Barn?

I have two pet rabbits that currently live in a large 2 story cage in our basement. I would LOVE to move the cage to a barn on our property but I'm worried might get to hot in the summer. There are a lot of wild rabbits who live in the barn but I assume they burrow in the heat. Anyone have...

    Injured Duck Question

My dear sweet Rouen was attacked by a dog when she escaped the pasture- the dog mouthed her pretty good but wasn't really trying to kill her (I don't think). Not much bleeding but she does have a puncture to her chest. I kept her inside for the night and the next day she seemed much better so I...

    Are 2 Ducks Enough?

Our male Pekin passed away so we are down to 2 females (a Pekin and a Rouen). Will they be alright just the two of them for company? They seem a little lost right now- do they need more duck companions?

Will my pekin duck hatch her own eggs?

My female pekin "Oats" is a great layer and nest builder, and I'd like to let her hatch her own eggs. However, she just keeps laying more and more eggs and never starts roosting on them. She was up to 20 eggs and one on the bottom had broken so I took them out. I've read that a lot of pekins...

mature pekin duck suddenly cannot walk

One of our female pekins has been unable to walk for 5 days now. Her legs move but her feet are all curled up and when she tries to move her legs just go under and behind her. I can't feel an egg stuck in her so I do not think she is egg bound. I put her in the tub (the ducks have not been...

Will my ducks stop being mean to the new guy?

I have 3 pekin ducks (2 females and 1 male) and recently adopted and unwanted male from a neighbor. He's bigger than the others but they have all been picking on him since they were first introduced. Nothing too serious from what I can tell- mostly chasing him around and biting his tail...

    what killed my duck?

"Birds bitten around the rear end, and have their intestines pulled out, have been attacked by a weasel or one of its relatives" Hello- this afternoon I found one of our dear ducks dead in their enclosed outside area. He had one small wound on his neck and his back half completely torn off and...
