Sorry, never saw this. She could not walk. Wouldn't use one leg but could move it. After a few days, she just limped horribly. Took about a month (long enough to keep her from my flock as well) but she slowly recovered and is now incorporated into my flock and is the sweetest chicken I have...
As I recall, I didn't have to do anything with their poop outside of their little house. Just changed their bedding in their house as needed. Which, with ducks, is often. I now have 23 ducks and a very large enclosure. Which we clean very, very often still. :) Welcome!
This enclosure does not exist any longer. I went from 2 to 11 ducks and they now have a larger one. The one they are in now, the top lifts for egg gathering and cleaning. Thanks!!!
Here's mine for my 2 muscovies.
i want something like ths for when i get ducks, can you open the roof to get eggs??
The back of it opens for egg removal and cleaning.
I bought 7 bantam cochin eggs, 2 hatched. All was well for 4-5 weeks. 1 chick started stumbling around and within a few days could not walk. Everything I researched pointed toward vitamin deficiency or Marek's. After pumping her full of everything I read to administer for vit. def., she...
Mareks disease is a very common disease in chicken flocks that is highly contagious. Chicks between the ages of five to twenty four weeks of age are most susceptible to contracting this disease.

Mine was 6 weeks when it started.
I am dealing with the exact same thing. Mine started at 4-6 weeks. I only have the 2 chicks. 1 started with these symptoms. I have been hand feeding her for 2 weeks, she has continuously but very slowly gotten worse. I have pretty much decided it is Mareks. I am culling her. Good luck with...
I believe I am dealing with Marek's. I only have 2 new chicks that I hatched from a few eggs I bought. 4 weeks after hatching one chick started having trouble walking. Now lays with 1 leg forward, 1 leg back. I believe this to be Mareks now and not a vit. deficiency. Everything I read leads...
This started about 2 weeks ago. I had a normal, healthy 4 week old cochin bantam. (I only have the 2 chicks) Almost overnight the one chick started having trouble standing, very wobbly. I discovered I had been feeding the wrong feed (chick starter for turkey, etc.) I figured the one was...
I usually go to Walmart and buy medical tape. Bandaids work just as well. Just as long as when you go to take it off, it's not too strong and hurts to pull it off. I soak in water if the tape is adhered too well.
I would tape everyone who had it. Worth a shot. Perhaps with the older ones, it may take a little longer. I would also order the Avian Super pack for them. Good luck!
