I've posted it a few other places and surgery for an impacted crop seems to be the common answer. It so odd though. I can't find where the incision would be or what this stitch was supposed to attach to.
Thanks for the response, dawg53!
This bird was found wandering down a relatively busy street in my town and spending a ton of time trying to hunt down her owners, the finder gave up and asked me to come get her.
She's a beautiful sweet Turken who comes when she's called. I have yet to see an egg out of her, but it appears she...
That's some really cool stuff, usedhobarts.
Some "old wive's tales" have truth behind them, and other's do not.
In this instance, I have a flock of 4 in a well built coop and a fortress of a run that is half of my yard. They have not been under any sort of predator attack (that I'm aware of)...
I knew it was gonna have more than one the day she laid it.
She's a fairly new layer. 6 month old easter egger.
I never expected 3!!!!!
My husband was so bummed that he broke one cracking it.
I butchered my first bird today. A 15 week old BR rooster.
We can't have roosters but we finally gave up last week and decided start prepping him for slaughter. We switched him to the game bird grower that we have and started sharpening the knife.

If she's getting better, then great?
Quarantine her, just in case. Make sure that you change clothes and wash up before handling the chicks after hanging out with your sex link.
I wouldn't cull if she's getting better, but you also don't want to give it to the chicks. Just be extra cautious.
It doesn't look like it, but is there a scab on her foot at all?
There's a chance it could be bumble foot. Chickens will sometimes cut their feet and since they can't clean it like a dog or cat, it'll get infected.
I was in a very serious car accident in 2005. I still feel the affects of it daily. While I'm in no way suicidal, I'd have to answer with a solid yes to this question.
I'm well versed in pain and discomfort, and wished every day for a long time that someone would put me down. I'm glad to have...
So, I moved my poults outdoors to a sectioned off part of the chicken coop. I couldn't handle the constant chirping in the house anymore.
Everyone seems to be doing great out there. Tiny Tim has quite a bit more room out there and she's getting so fast it's scary. :)
I realize it's been only...
Sounds like they might have eaten too much too fast.
My guess is that it would pass, but definitely heed other opinions as well.
Check in the morning when their crops should be empty. If they aren't, then you have a serious problem.
