Thanks A LOT for the info. I have 8 chicks from a recent hacth (one week ago) and yes, they are great. I assumed the feed was always made available to them but, in all my reading online, I never saw anything that spoke directly to that fact.
I purchased the only game bird feed available at my...
Well...I opened all 10 eggs that didn't hatch and it was like prepping for breakfast. There were no baby birds, no veins, or any signs of growth. Does this mean I was shipped infertile eggs?
These guys are super awesome! I am however very disappointed to only have had 2 hatch out of 13 eggs. They were shipped and I AM new to this but I thought that my part in the process went very well.
Two of my 12 button quail eggs have hatched this morning. I am in the first hour of day 18 and this is my very first hatch. Do I leave the newly hatched inside of the incubator until I give up on unhatched eggs? How long should I wait? Thanks!
I read an article where someone put for eggs in a plastic container, the plastic container in a bowl with some water, and fixed a lamp above the set-up. The person claimed that one of the four eggs hatched. I'd say research DIY incubators. I personally bought a turner for 60 bucks but I wasn't...
I didn't have much luck candling, aside from the one white egg that looked like it was empty (threw it out).... definitely not good enough visibility to see any internal pip. Looks like I'm going to lock em down a little early. Thanks!
Hey all!
The 13th day for my button quail eggs is tomorrow at 6pm. I have to leave home at 1:30 pm and won't be back until midnight so I'm faced with either going into lockdown early or late... which would be the better choice? The eggs have been kept at a fairly constant temp in the high 99s...
From what I've read online, my hero 3 should be able to handle the heat and humidity. I was worried about battery life since the cam will have to be put in during the lock-down period, but then I realized that the camera can be powered on with my wireless remote
I'll definitely share any...
That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for that. The longest this would take is 20 minutes and then I wouldn't have to disturb the incubator multiple times, daily.
I don't mind turning by hand but I did already crush one egg.
Thanks!
