    When will my hen start to lay?

    Mines started laying at 30 weeks :) so don't worry and they should lay on their first winter so expect an egg soon.. How Long you had them? Have u put false eggs in the egg boxes?

    One hen sleeps on her roost and the other one stands in the corner and sleeps?!! On hay she doesn't sit down on the hay but stands there in the corner and each night I put her on the roost .. Then she stands on the roost and sleeps!!!! Is this normal .. Sleeping and standing? Thank you

    Pardon my ignorance but is free ranging eating grass etc? Then no as there's a lot of soil in my garden and they just eat earth worms from there.. They won't eat grains either :/! Thank you for your response .. Any further thoughts?

    Hi guys I noticed a huge bulge on my girl.. Her crop has gone hugeee.. It was soo hard I fed her some olive oil mixed with water... She's constantly eating.. However, can she get an impacted crop from seeds stones and a lot of sunflower seeds?!! I thought hens could only have an impacted crop...

    I would use flubenvet, which treats an array of worms... My girls are on their 5th day treatment and they seem cured :D! Their droppings are normal etc and I noticed today BRIGHT red combs :) and I'm a newbie with keeping hens (only got two as pets) & I'm delighted with results

    I'm using it on my girls atm and it seems to be working *touch wood* it's a seven day treatment but it seems their cleared.. But I'm gna repeat the process in three weeks to ensure they're full recovered :)
