    Nestbox is at ground level right? Was it cooler out or dew on the grass/run? If they felt cold they probably felt as you might on a chilly winter morning. Just want to sleep in! XD I wouldn't worry unless they did it many days in a row. Make sure they have food and water.

    seeing as single comb is the result of lacking any OTHER combs over top of it, does this let me cross out any pea comb'ed hen on my list? That would also explain the yellow legs, instead of spotted or green like EEs or the roo?

    Most birds labeled as "doves" do not return. Ringneck, diamond, and Mourning doves are some i can name right off the top of my head that WILL NOT return.
