My hen has always had a squishy crop since the day I got her a year ago. I thought i might be sour crop so I treated her with ACV and garlic and oregano. I withheld feeding also until her crop was flat and empty. After her crop was flat I put her back with the others and her crop went squishy...
So I have a one year old Silke hen. She has a swollen crop but it is very mushy like a water ballon. Her breath does not smell however. She still eats and drinks fine and acts normal. What could this be? If so how can I treat her?? And what causes sour and impacted crop?
When I hatch out silkies, I always have some that are born with big "poofs" on their heads. Sorry I don't know what else to call it. Does that mean anything significant.
I set 8 silkie eggs and so far on day 21 only 1 has hatched so far and I can't really tell if the others have pipped yet. Do the others have a chance at hatching?
I just started a batch of silkie eggs and I read on sundown silkies that they use the dry incubation method. Where you only mist the eggs every few days then increase it only at the last three days. Have any of you used this method and does it sound legit?
When I got my 4 month old silkie rooster I noticed his eyes were a blue or grey color. It's been about a month and he's still like this. Could he have Marek's disease or could it just be a mutation
