    Oil Gland

Thank you! Is the oil gland by the same hole that they lay eggs out of? I am still having trouble locating it.

    Oil Gland

I have a kahki campbell who I noticed recently has been losing some of her feathers, and whenver I put her in her water, she seems to get very wet. I called one of my friends who owns a bird sanctuary, and she said that her oil gland is probably clogged and needs to be cleaned. Any advice on how...

Khaki Campbell ducks 22 weeks and no eggs yet. Just got one I think (picture) added.

Not to try to take over the thread or anything but I also have a khaki campbell who is about 24 weeks. She started laying at about 21 weeks and have me almost an egg a day. Suddenly she has stopped laying. Is this normal? I haven't gotten an egg in almost 2 weeks!

    Hen holster diapers on ducks?

I recently bought two diaper harnesses from hen holster (size large). I heard on another thread that they were the best ones out there, however they don't seen to work well on my ducks. I have one khaki campbell and one grey swedish/Cayuga mix (or Atleast that's what I think). I got the diapers...

    Limping duck

I had a similar situation with my khaki campbell. It turns our that her leg was dislocated and she pulled her hamstring. Unfortunately it couldn't heal properly and she will always have a limp :(

    More ducks

I know for a fact that my khaki who is quiet is a female because she gives me an eggs day! My swed is too young to be laying (for another month or so) but I know she is also a female because she is loud and she doesn't have a drake feather.

    More ducks

Currently I have one khaki campbell who is 5 months old and one black swedish/Cayuga who is 4 months old. My khaki campbell is very quiet, but my swed has got some lungs! My parents don't like the noise and worry that it might be disrupting our neighbors (although I don't think they can even...

    What breed is my duck?

I have two ducks, one a khaki campbell, and one who I rescued. I was curious about the breed of the one that I rescued... I think she is a grey swedish but I'm not quite sure. Could I get some insight on what you guys might think she is?

    Egg bound duck?

I have a 5 month old khaki-campbell who has started laying about 5 days ago. The first three days I got an egg from her. Yesterday she didn't lay and I thought maybe she do don't lay or a squirrel took it. I also did not get one from her today. I read that it is common for new layers to become...

My duck laid her first egg!

My ducks are not the same age. My black swedish was a rescue so I don't know exactly how old she is but I would imagine she is about 4 months. I know for sure she is younger than my khaki campbell, though. Is the oyster shells stuff literally oyster shells? And are they crushed up? And where...

My duck laid her first egg!

No, they do not eat at a set time. They play for the majority of the day and then in the evening/night/morning they eat when they please. Could I just put calcium powder on a watermelon for the one duck and then leave the other duck with a plain watermelon?

My duck laid her first egg!

If they are in the same pen, how can I go about that?

My duck laid her first egg!

Thank you for the information. I also have another duck who is about 4 months old and she is what I think is a black swedish. She is not laying yet. If I switched up the feed and calcium and such, should it affect her? Also, should I put the calcium in the food or water in the form of a powder...

Is it normal for my ducks bill to look like this?

I noticed this white stuff on her bill and noticed that it is kind of peeling. Sorry for the bad quality photos- you know how ducks are:lol:

My duck laid her first egg!

So my 5 month (around there) old khaki campbell duck just laid her first egg, and I had some questions... Is there anything that I should do differently now that she's laying? Should any of her eating habits change? Do I need to give her more calcium or anything like that? Is there anything else...

    Duck crying?

Yes it is only for a few minutes after she gets out of the pool. It doesn't really worry me, I just thought it was strange. Thank you for your help!

    Duck crying?

I have a khaki campbell and a black swedish duck. I noticed that after my khaki got out of the water, she was grooming herself and it looked like she was crying because there were what looked like tears coming out of her eyes! What is this? Is it bad?

    Duck spasm?

Hi all! When I put my ducks in their pool to go swimming I like to put my toes in the water, and they like to nibble on them. What my question is about is that sometimes they seem to have these little spasms and stick their neck up my leg and it doesn't even look like they are nibbling at...
