Sexing geese, breed, behaviour, etc. Bunch of Q's rolled into one!

I bought at auction what was supposed to be a dewlap French Toulouse...Now that I've seen others posts I'm not too sure that's what he/she is...I would love input on this and the likely sex of it... I was hoping that it as well as my brown Chinese were both geese not ganders...Both are...

    Dogloo for geese

I'm thinking of getting my two geese a dogloo (dog igloo house) to go inside their paddock, but not sure if the smaller size (37.5 l x 30.5 w by 23 t ) is going to be tall enough for two geese?

    New Toulouse Owner

I ended up with a female Chinese to keep him company, were fairly certain the Toulouse is a gander. Yes, my first geese, we've always had chickens, ducks, etc. Didn't know I could get attached so easily! Right now I'm feeding unmedicated gosling/duck crumbles and pasture, I'm wondering how...

    New Toulouse Owner

I took home a duckling from a friend temporarily and tomorrow I'm bringing it back after I get another Toulouse from the local breeder. It was just getting too stressed on its own.

    New Toulouse Owner

While I've had other poultry I'm new to geese. I just acquired a 5 week old French Dewlap Toulouse in hopes to keep my senior mare company (sounds crazy but has been done many times before!). Right now he's in a brooder with a lamp, I'll bring him out in the yardto explore tomorrow. Any advice...

    Wounded Comb...

Thank you! I have isolated her and cleaned her up, she looks ok so far...The rooster is going for sure. Likely into my freezer :) Evidently there are all sorts of flashy breeds for sale in our neighbourhood that aren't selling :(

    Wounded Comb...

I came home to an injured hen today, (her comb was torn, they are free ranged during the day and have access to their pen and coop so I am not sure if a raven got at it originally) normally they all get along fine but when I put her in the coop, my usually skittish Wellsummer hen went after her...

Sexing my Sussex & Wellsummer "hens"

Oh ok, any idea if they're pullets or Roos? They're combs are pretty big but understand they can be in some breeds. I don't see saddle feathers.

Sexing my Sussex & Wellsummer "hens"

I am fairly certain the Welsummer is a hen, but really unsure about the Sussex.

Sexing my Sussex & Wellsummer "hens"

Turns out my 3 month old Brahma is a too, and I'm questioning if the Wellsummer I bought with him is also. My White Leghorns turned out to be Sussex, which I like better, but I am also wondering if one or both are Roos. The Plymouths I raised with them are the only two out of 6 laying, and the...

    Crowing chicken?

The Leghorns are 18 weeks, my questionable-sex Brahma and Wellsummer are 14 weeks old.

    Crowing chicken?

I was more concerned with one of my Leghorns that's masculine looking... I will be uber annoyed if my birds are boys!

    Crowing chicken?

So I awoke to me my 18 week old Brahma hen crowing like a rooster at the break of day... I am concerned she's either a rooster lol or there's something funky going down. My dogs were terrified!

Live baby poultry and those who are immunocompromised

I'm not sure if anyone will respond but it's worth a shot! I didn't realize when I bought my chicks (4, currently in a brooder in my basement) that due to the fact that I am on immunosuppressive therapy (organ transplant drugs among others) I shouldn't be handling or caring for them...

Ideas for coop design on existing outbuilding!

I have an existing structure that was used to hide a generator (a very large very ugly generator from WWII that I am SO happy we finally got rid of I might add! Good old big greenie...) Right now it's just four chipboard walls and a hinged roof, (the hinged roof is QUITE heavy), and ugly as...
