I'm pretty sure my silkie hen has ascites, and I was wondering how you drain the fluids from the belly? What kind of syringe do you use? Should a vet do it if I have no experience?
@FishMtFarm I don't feel an egg inside her. Also, she is acting normal, trying to walk about and eat grass, but of course she is still toppling over when she tries to walk. And the poo seems to be getting stuck on her because she leans backwards to stand now.
Hello, my silkie hen who is 4 years old seems bloated and possibly spraddled her legs (or it's just added weight). I was gone on a 2wk vacation and had family and friends watch my chickens. When I checked on my silkie she had trouble getting up this morning and she still does. When she attempts...

Have you checked to see if he/she has sickles? A cock will have pointed feathers like in this picture, and a hen will have rounded feathers. Its usually more noticeable on the cape and main tail...
KEEP YOUR CHICKS WARM:
Chicks are better off in groups so my guess is keep all the chicks together under a brooder lamp. If they are huddling they are cold, and if they are trying to hide from the lamp it is two hot. What is the temperature where you live? You want your chicks together so they...
It would probably be best for the chicks to be together. Do they share a mom? Also, I have only bought chicks pre-hatched, my chickens have never mothered any chicks so I'm not sure if it is best to keep them together. However, I do know that if the mother is aggressive in anyway you should keep...
My chicken this year had the same issue. I didn't catch it in time and she didn't make it, but your chicken is dehydrated. Make sure you give her fresh electrolytes daily. And it would be best for her to keep drinking water. Is she walking slowly too?
I see it has been 6 days since your post, but if the temperature is getting that low, a garage or shed would probably be best. You don't want your chickens legs freezing with all the air coming through the cage.
Why are the feathers wet? Did you put something on them? If not the chick could be pulling at their own feathers. Also, make sure the heat temperature is not changing rapidly or too often that could be stressing your chick. However, I have never had this happen to my chicks so I can not for...

1) Black Sex Link Hen 3yrs
2) She seems like she overly molted, and has occasional sneezes. She was breathing a little raspy too.
3) This has been happening for maybe a week or two, but I just noticed the sneezes and raspy breathing this...
