So I've been doing some reading and apparently the beak can grow back???
Does anyone have any idea how far back it can get chopped before it won't grow back or am I reading the wrong stuff?
I cam home last night to a hen who's upper beak was removed by a predator trap that I had set by the chicken yard (we've been having other issues).
She might have a quarter inch left of her upper beak, maybe less. I'm wondering if she'll be able to eat like that or if it would just be more...
Recently I received a pair of Welsummer roosters for free and I can only keep on of them. So naturally I want to get a little return from the feed I gave them. I realize they are not really meat birds so I don't have high expectations but they are considered dual purpose birds in some of the...
So my parents had a rabbit that bit the dust and I am wondering if there is any reason that I can't feed the leftover rabbit pellets to my hens.
Anybody see this as a problem?
Any insight is greatly appreciated.

One of the most important tools in home brewing that I've found (the hard way) is the journal. Ask you hubby if he documented the whole process, and from there it's usually pretty easy to identify what went wrong. Believe me, it's usually something that makes you feel real dumb.
I've seen issues like that with people mixing up imperial gallons and US gallons. Guys will prime with enough for 5 imperial gallons which is roughly 6 us gallons, that makes for some fun times.

No, I think the yeast in the Hef gives it the perfect flavor. I will experiment with other brews, but to me, the Hef has such a clean flavor...I don't want to mess with it.
Also, Hef might be a good choice for you since a good ferment temp is between 62-64 degrees.
I might try it...

I think I've seen it once.
It's a rare act that is hard to catch on film, occasionally you can find them doing it in the wild but I've never seen this behavior in captivity. But once they have found a mate it never happens again.
I just had a ground breaking thought. If you and I are similar enought to raise chickens and like other DIY stuff, there has to be other home brewers creeping around here.
So if you are a home brewer or would like to be one, I would like to know what you are brewing.
I will start.

I'm in the same boat as you folks. My girls are doing just what God made them to do and they are doing it well, despite the frozen water and the sub zero windchills.

Sooner or later someone was going to ruin the whole thing for me. Posting this here is like going to the bar and telling everyone where the fish are biting.
I hope you didn't just increase my competition.

It will not dehydrate you. It is moisture, you just need more volume of it then you would need of water.

Eating snow will bring down your body temp but it will not dehydrate you.
