I have my garden near the coop and run.if I let my hens out to pick in the yard it seems first place they want to go is in the garden.they like scratching for worms.

I've done this 2 times and good both times.they all wanted to get back in but some couldn't find the door.i did figure that bowl of cracked corn didn't mean nothing to them after getn the yard.they were happy hens.
I tried it today and it worked pretty good but 5 of them was wanting to get back in the coop as it started getn dark and they couldn't find the door to the run.they was really enjoying the yard.

im slowly learning about byc,but im curious is their any table scraps that you should not feed your hens?i have been feeding them all my scraps and corn daily.i also notice that the corn I put in the feeder is scratched out on the ground next day.seems they would rather eat from the ground?also...
need answers from some of you professionals.one of my hens is shedding feathers bad and its cold winter here in va.im new to chickens ,although I was around them as a child on a farm,i never did really kno nothing about them.do I have any worrys of disease or is this common stuff?
