I have a hen like this... She pecks my head when I'm bent down, taking care of the bunnies. However, while the hens "pick" at the youngins, this is the only time the Roo intervened.

I see quite a few flocks that are integrated with different colors and/or breeds. My Cemani will ATTACK any other birds that I try to introduce. I set up close quarters so they can get to see/smell eachother. This has always worked with other Cemani. However, the other breed is not all black...

Thank you! I, at first, found it very strange that they all laid such different eggs! However, it's working towards an advantage. I have the ability to keep better records! My current roo and 2 hens are a GFF/TMA/MB cross, and a GFF hen as my third layer. So far, the mixed hens have thrown a lot...

This might sound strange... But I'm smart enough to know which egg comes from which hen. I am in the process of tagging them according to their mother, as they all have the same father. I have some GFF grow outs that look outstanding. At that point of lay, I will start moving them around...

I agree... For the most part. This bird was sold to me and culled as soon as he was tame enough to catch and, thankfully, before the girls reached POL. A very expensive roast chicken. However, every generation is getting a little darker. It's just going to take YEARS to get there.

This is James Phelps. He's the husband of one of our members in our FB Cemani group, and owns Graceful Chickens with her. Your best bet is to contact him through FB. He and his wife run a group called Ayam Cemani Showcase. The 1-5 rating is 1 being worst with 5 being maximum fibro saturation...

I just had a really rough lesson in catching and holding while taking a picture rofl. This is all I have right now. I'll try to get an album of the 3 babies this weekend. This is my little boy. He's black skinned, black vent, toes and nails. Grey mouth. I tried to take a picture of his...

Awesome! I also experienced this last week! I only have 2 gals laying right now, so 6 eggs in the incubator at the moment! Collecting this week also. However, my current roo is less than desirable, so I'm very curious about these hatchling. My youngest cockeral is amazing... Will be replacing 58...

I've been trying hard to figure out how to upload pictures of a fibro breeding chart and a comparative picture of Svart vs Cemani. Since I am technology stupid, I'll give you a run down of the pics: Svarts are supposed to be a bit rounder, while Cemani should have a more upright stance, and...

I am not trying to beat a dead horse here... But you can see all of the past exhibitions from the past 20+ years on the Smithsonian website, even searching using keywords. I'm not saying his birds aren't usable and don't clean up well. I just don't believe that he had 2 separate lines unless...

I guess everyone took this post with a grain of salt? I was, as well as the poster, under the impression that Michael Bean's birds were a marketing scam and had nothing to do with the Smithsonian. As much research as I've done, I can't find anything reputable to confirm or deny.
