I am planning to add some ducklings to my upcoming chick order. Last time I had ducklings I kept them in the coop with the chicks. When it came time to relocate them to the pond they would have NOTHING to do with it! Stubborn little darlings. Lets just say they made extremely messy rommies...

I've had a chick peeping like crazy in the egg for 2 days now without any evidence of breaking out action. I held the egg up to my ear and I can hear it piping but still no actual hole. How long do they chirp like that before breaking FREE

I held a few of my day 19 eggs to my ear today and could hear a light tapping....can't wait...should have some new fuzzy butts by morning. They are all out under the mommas so unless we are out in the coop when it happens we don't see much of the actual hatching!

I came home from the hospital to find 2 broodies setting on nests and the best I can figure started on the 31st I have another broody tag teaming it with one of the others and I have gathered some fresh eggs so I may give her a nest of her own if I find the 2 broodies...
