Help for Injury and shock after fox attack.

So far so good. There's no sign of infection. She's laying low and quiet. Not eating as much as normal but she's drinking and enjoying some scrambled eggs, berries and meal worms. Poop looks normal. Thank you again for the advice.

Help for Injury and shock after fox attack.

A fox decided our six hens would make a good Christmas buffet. One is missing, three are fine, one has lots of missing feathers and a few puncture wounds and one has open wounds under her wings and appears to be in shock. I cleaned the two with injuries with hydrogen peroxide using a surgeon...

    7 week buff Orpington gender

We received 2 buff Orpington chicks at 4 weeks and were told they were girls. Fast forward a few weeks and I'm concerned one or both are Roos. We have sex linked and marans who's combs didn't do anything until they were much older. Hoping for some expert opinions. Thank you!

New Pullet very docile...worms? Mites? Sick?

After losing 3/4 15 week old pullets to a fox while free ranging, we decided to get another Golden Comet of similar age. This chicken appeared fine when we picked her up but what we thought was a sweet, calm girl is really raising concerns. She is quarantined and doesn't roost or peck or do...

    Single chicken after predator attack

I'm hoping to pick a few experienced brains. Sadly two of our three hens were killed yesterday by a fox attack in broad daylight. The girls have an extremely fortified run/coop but also free-range when we are outside. I stepped inside to get my baby after his nap and in a matter of minutes heard...
