Hey thanks a lot:-) I was kind of thinking/hoping they were pullets but then the black threw me off when I saw some pics of roos with black. I wish they weren't so hard to sex! Out of 6, 3 have big poofy heads that are rounded and 3 have poofs that point backwards. Just a big ol' waiting game...

Since nobody answered under what gender, maybe someone here will answer. Do all buff silkie roos have black tips on their tail feathers? Can hens have black tips?

My 2 buff silkies are now 3 months old. Within the past week, one of them has gotten black tips on the tail feathers. I searched and saw roosters with black tips so does that mean I could have a roo. Can hens have black tips too?

My silkies are freindly but nothing like my OEGB. My OEGB roo loves to fly up and land on me. He loves to be petted along with the hens:-)

My white frizzle cochin banty was a dirty white/buff color when I got them. She's the prettiest white girl now with one black feather on her chest.

Is it just silkies around adults? I have 3 roos here but all adults in 3 locations since its 3 different breeds and the group of silkie chicks by themselves. The adults didn't slow my OEG or Cochins down from crowing.

They left today and just in time. The roo I kept was picking on them not to mention the poor hens were not liking to roo to hen ratio.
