I was wondering if silkie roos start crowing as young as others? My OEG and cochin banties started crowing around 8-12 weeks.
I have one chick with the adult silkies that hatched easter day. Its not crowing and Wendall the roo isn't bother by it. Its feathers on the head look more than the girls than him so I'm thinking girl.
I have some other chicks that are about 2 months old and more hatching now.

My cute lil' Silkie Roo started crowing last week. He is 15 weeks old. I am so proud of him even though he sounds like he has a toad in his throat. He needs to practice a bit.

Is it just silkies around adults? I have 3 roos here but all adults in 3 locations since its 3 different breeds and the group of silkie chicks by themselves.
The adults didn't slow my OEG or Cochins down from crowing.

i think my silkie just started crowing... at only about six to seven weeks! it sounds like he is trying to cough up somthing at the same time as crowing!
