Hello again. It has been a long time since I have been here. Came to see when Chickenstock was going to be. There have been some awesome changes to the web site, I see. Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it this year to chicken stock. I know that Hotwings is going to be disappointed...
Hi, everyone. I am Freebie (aka Denise)
I live in the small town of Bloomingdale, in Southwest Michigan. I absolutely love it here. Here a picture of my most favorite creature in the entire world... Introducing...Miss Kate May she rest in peace 06/26/09.
I love and miss her more than words...
I am so excited. My wonderful daughter is going to come with me and Hotwings. I could not believe that she decided to come with me. Now, to see if the DH will change his mind.

I do so love mine from year 1. She has a very happy home on the shelf above my computer.
Opa, will you be selling you chicks on a first come first serve, I have seen quite a few people wanting your babies. Or, do you have a list going?
Also, wondering if you are bringing any...
I just looked through the attendance list and noticed The Chicken Lady is not on the list. You mean we will not have our moderator. OH NO!!! all he@% us gonna break loose now. LOL!!!
Has anyone volunteered for this? Do we need charcoal and the turners and such? I may change what I am bringing if we still need the stuff to cook with.
There is still time to change my dish. But has anyone said they would man the grill?

Sounds good. I will plan on that then. Sure hope the weather cooperates with us this year. If I remember right, we have had quite nice weather for the last two.
I may be able to bring some more of those wonderful waterballoons if someone is willing to help me out in all the fun. Any volunteers?
I could probably rustle up a prize or two for the young ones.

Oh, yes, I would definately seperate him. Keeping him covered so he will rest. If he is a lone rooster, he may have tangled with a predator or something rather than another bird? So hard to tell if nothing is obvious. keep us posted.
does he have any other symptoms? I guess it would not hurt him any to have the medicated feed. I would probably just get some meds to put in the water rather than buy the food.
I do know from experience that fresh eggs do not make the best hard boiled eggs. They are impossible to peel. So, keep them a few weeks before hardboiling, they will turn out much better.
I had a barred rock roo that was very agressive. I am getting one again this year, hoping he turns out like yours. I have a buff orp. roo that is exactly like your barred rock. He is with the mixed flock. I do adore him. He will not take things from my hand, which is fine, But that is ok...
Will this work in the winter? I mean, will the water freeze at the nipple? I am sure a heater can be put in the 55 gallon drum. Just wondering about the freezing.
