Hello, welcome to our page.
After months of planning, researching, and scouring this site, we are ready to share our story.
Well it all started with the April 2009 issue of Sunset magazine. One look at that Buff Orpington, and I knew I had to have one. That was the the beginning of our family...
Okay, I'm new at this, (Hens have been laying eggs since January), kind of awkward, but what should I say to my friends that want to "pay" me for "giving" them eggs?
Should I kindly take the money, I was thinking of putting a donation box out.
Any ideas, or just keep insisting they do not have...
Hello, I need some help, I have a bunch of pill bugs that have found there way into my raised bed garden, however I don't want them there. Is it safe to feed to my ladies?
Hi, I'm really interested in making my own food for the ladies. I'm somewhat confused, wouldn't you need to soak some of those grains first?
Thanks for recipe and the response.
I've been feeding the wild birds around here with my feeder. However, the seed falls quite a lot , and the chickens go crazy over it. Is it okay for them to eat it? I've noticed one or two of them have diarrhea. Need help with my problem.
Thank you.

Thanks for your responses.

Loving the...
My baby girls just started laying this week!!!

Thanks for your help!
I have never posted a reply before, I always have questions; but I am compelled to answer, because I just made sprouts this week for the girls and they gobbled them up! I made Mung Beans. I love'em in my salads too. But, the girls eat it up so fast! Yes, it is worth it, I'm going to make more...
I have a gate up; those little girls fly right over it! When they get into a part of the yard I have gated off, it is so funny to watch them! They 'know' they aren't allowed there, and freeze like a deer in headlights when I go shoe them off! I call them "The Wrecking Crew!" I love them, my...
I looked around , I hope this is in the right section. I let my chickens free range for 3 or more hours a day. Then I clean up the poop from the ground. Usually by sweeping it into a dust pan and digging a whole in the ground. Some of the poop is more brown and really sticks to the ground , even...
