What does this look like to you ××pics××

Thanks. If Amy good comes of this hopefully someone else will do a search and find this thread and will save their bird. It's tough losing an animal that relies on you, let alone to lose her to something I did :s

It wasn't the mites. Turns out tea tree oil contains chemicals called terpenes. They are toxic to a lot of animals. The terpenes were absorbed through her skin and effected her central nervous system . I attempted to wash her off to stall the poisoning but it was too late age just slowly...

I put a mixture of olive oil (a shot glass full) with 3 drops of tea tree oil. I believe the tea tree oil killed her :(

I did soak her for about 10 minutes in Luke warm water then covered each leg with olive oil. She was acting very strange after that. She went and hid by he self in a nest box she is never in. I hope I just stressed her a bit. I'm working over night so I guess I'll see in the morning

Not the best quality, I know. My silkie looks like it has light yellowish crud on her feet and up her legs. I thought leg mites but her scales aren't really raised at all. It's the worst on the bottom of its feet.

    new egg layer? *pic*

I'm certain the first 3 are from my Cornish/brahma mix. She's been the only one laying for 2 months. She always lays in the morning around 9 am. This egg must have been laid approx. At 2 pm. I'm thinking it must be one of the other birds

    new egg layer? *pic*

Hey. I have been getting eggs sporadically from my one hen and they have been fairly consistent colour and really consistent in shape. Tonight I found an egg that is smaller, much more oval compared to my previous eggs and is darker and slightly speckled. Could this be one of her eggs or...

bantam breeders! ! Need some advice

Hi guys I am wondering if you know of a way to identify bantam chicks from ''regular'' chicks. I was sold 2 chicks as cochin/wyandotte chicks and was told they were full sized birds. They are now around 9 weeks old and they are roughly the same size as my 10 week old silkie chicks. Was I...

a way to identify bantam from LF birds

Hi. Is there a way to tell bantam from LF birds . I bought two chicks at an auction the last week of October that were labeled as cochin/wyandotte. They are now approx 8 weeks old and are the same size or smaller than 2 silkie chicks that are 9 or 10 weeks. If they were LF chicks should...

    sex of these two?

The bigger one also has waddles under ''his''chin coming in red. They should be closer to 7 weeks old, as I've had them for 4 weeks and they were 3 weeks old when I got them (that's what I was told)
  16. Chris383

    sex of these two?

They are supposed to be cochin/wyandotte mixes. I'm thinking a cockeral and pullet but what do you guys think

    Guess on breed and age?

An auction. And yes I figured mixed but I'm wondering with what. The second one has all the traits of a jersey giant.

    Guess on breed and age?

And the first one has very lightly feathered legs. Nothing compared to a cochin or brahma though

    Guess on breed and age?
