Thanks everyone. I do still have her body, but I don't know where to start as far as sending her off to a lab for testing...
Neither of my hens are/were overweight so I know that didn't cause her death. They both weighed in at 4.5 pounds. I know being overweight increases their chances of dying...
Hi everyone, I had a small flock of just two Polish hens. They were sisters and turned 4 years old in February. Yesterday morning, both girls were acring completely normal. I let them out of their coop into their run & fed them as usual.
My family and I left for the day and when we returned, we...
Hello all! I'm about to do a sort of “revamp” on my DIY coop. Currently, it has 3 nest boxes inside that I will be removing to make room for some new hens. Instead, I plan on building 2 new external double nest boxes, one for each end of my coop, that will ideally be removable for easy cleaning...
I want some buffed lace! I told the hubby the other day to expect a couple new chicks here soon, once I fix up the coop. Lol I have my SL, and my GL, now I want my BL!! Hahaha

I think it usually depends on the type of polish hens. Ours are probably considered bantam, as they're a bit on the smaller side...not too much though, so I may be wrong. They lay eggs that are almost as big as eggs labeled “large” in the store. Just a tad smaller. They wiggle a bit in the egg...
Lol thanks! You should get some! They are so awesome. Really hard for us to get any decent pics of our girls though...they follow so close, just these couple decent pics took a photo shoot of at least 50 tries to get!
Just thought I'd share some newer pics of our 2 mottled (laced) polish girls, Whoopie and Wanda. They're just over a year old and giving us over a dozen eggs a week :)
Okay. I'm gonna try to get some pics of the coop once the rain stops. Maybe I can get some suggestions as to why they might not like the nests. As for trying a different material, what would you suggest? Again, currently using hay. And I'll see if my local shop has any ceramic eggs. Thanks
