I've decided to keep him, sell the rest of my silkies, and learn about breeding. Would you say he is a good beginner bird to start breeding? I've read the SOP, and a couple threads on here, but it is overwhelming. Haha.

Sex? I've been told both male and female on this bird. Haha. 6 month old splash silkie. I've seen some silkie hens with combs, and that's my confusion. I'm also not sure if it has streamers or just a really prominent crest.

I am mobile and cannot post several pictures at once, but will attach more photos in replies. English Orp hatch 5/15 on Day 22 with what appeared to be unabsorbed yolk. It is not. It is 10 days old today, and otherwise healthy. Mass is collecting poop. Vent is clear. Ideas?

I know I asked this awhile ago, but I got a better picture finally. are these buffs or light partridge? And what quality?

This is a pointless post, but I wanted to share in case anyone was wondering. haha. I've searched and searched for pictures of the offspring on this cross, and haven't been able to find much. So here they are! pullet on left, cockerel on right. So, if you do have this cross, I'd love to see!

yes. her on roost beside 2 EE.

It is pale, little to no color. I'm more concerned about breed rather than sex. She was bought in an assorted pullets bin, and I thought RIR for sure but I think her tailfeathers are weird and not like my other RIR.

the tailfeathers are throwing me off. I have another that doesn't have these upwards tailfeathers. 8 weeks.

see this is what threw me off, haha. I have pullets that have them top, but they're dark brahmas.
