I picked up these new hens today for free from Craigslist, but didn't ask what breed as the lady seemed busy. Any guesses would be appreciated. I think the first may be a speckled sussex? Not sure of the other 2. I also picked one up that looks like a barred rock, but has a flat comb with points...

    Are these Seramas or OEGB?

Got these in a trade as Seramas..but looking at the cockerel I have my doubts. Either way they're beautiful. Any guess on color also? I think the cockerel is mottled, but not sure of the hen. And another for a better shot of the hen.

    Orpington Colors?

I hatched these chicks yesterday from a pen of Lavender, Blue, Black, and Buff Orpington hens, with Lavender, Blue, and Buff Orpington cockerels. Of course there was a Brown Leghorn, White Leghorn, Ameracauna, and Salmon Faverolle hen in there, but these looked like Orpington eggs. Any idea...

    Sticky eyes

I ordered 20 Silkie chicks from Ideal recently..and one of them keeps having to have it's eyes cleaned to open them. It's like a gooey substance that keeps coming back and sealing it's eyes shut. I clean them with warm water and a q-tip, then put a bit of VetRx on them, and the chick can finally...

20wk Pullet tail down, now won't walk. Sick Buff hen.

I'm expecting eggs soon from my 20-22wk old Barred Rock pullets, and I decided I'd worm them. Today I was filling up the containers for worming, and realized one of my Barred pullets was limping..thought she must've hurt her leg when she flew over the coop in a gap. Just short of 10 minutes she...

The chicks arrived this morning at a friends house, we ordered together and they were shipped to her. I ordered 10 white Silkies and 10 Buff Silkies. Breed guess

My 5 yr old picked this out of a box of Black Australorp chicks, I got the Australorps, and he wanted this one. The lady couldn't tell me what it was. They're getting in the Cockatiel food dishes, and the birds are so scared to go eat. I hung the feeders, and they still managed to get to it! Good...

    Bent neck, Polish chick

I had a Polish chick I had to help out of the egg last night with a bent neck. He's viewing the world from upside down. He's very alert, but I'm not sure how he'll eat. He also has curled toes on one foot. I know the curled toes can be corrected, but what about the bent neck? I tried, and I CAN...
